The single was written by G.E.M. and produced by Austrian songwriter Lupo Groinig. It was released via digital download and streaming on August 10, 2018, by Hummingbird Music. The accompanying music video for "Tik Tok" was filmed in Inner Mongolia, China and features actor Tender Huang.
