Douglas Todd Staples (born August 24, 1963)[2] is the President of the Texas Oil & Gas Association, the oldest and largest oil and gas trade association in Texas representing all facets of the industry including production, pipelines, refineries and export facilities.[3] Staples is the former two-term Texas Commissioner of Agriculture and served with distinction in the Texas Senate and House of Representatives for 12 years.[4] He unsuccessfully ran for the Republican nomination for lieutenant governor in 2014.
