[1]Tomu Uchida (内田吐夢, Uchida Tomu, 26 April 1898 – 7 August 1970), born Tsunejirō Uchida, was a Japanese film director and screenwriter.[1][2][3] Uchida chose the stage name Tomu, a transliteration of the English Tom, written in Kanji characters meaning "to spit out dreams".[4]
