Tunes is a village in the civil parish of Algoz e Tunes, in the municipality of Silves, in Algarve region, Portugal.[1] It was the seat of its own civil parish until 2013 when the parish of Tunes merged into the new parish of Algoz e Tunes.[2] In 2001 there were 2002 inhabitants, in an area of approximately 12.13 square kilometres (4.68 sq mi): there were 167 residents per kilometre square. Tunes is an important railway hub in southern Portugal.
