Upper Fruitland (Navajo: Doo Alkʼahii is roughly translated as "a place where animals do not get fat" or "the condition where there is no fat on the animals."[4]) is a census-designated place (CDP) in San Juan County, New Mexico, United States. The population was 1,664 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Farmington Metropolitan Statistical Area.
