The Submarine Forces of France (French: Forces Sous-Marines, FSM) form one of the four major components of the French Navy. This naval force brings together all French submarines. Since the disbandment of the last conventional submarine fleet in 1999, the Strategic Oceanic Force (French: Force Océanique Stratégique, FOST) commands the entire FSM and the two terms have become synonymous.
