Romanian traffic sign G3 showing the general speed limits, right after the customs

Road signs in Romania conform broadly to European norms, as the country is a signatory of the 1968 Vienna Convention on Road Signs and Signals, as well as the 1971 European Agreement supplementing the 1968 Convention.

The Romanian traffic signs are divided into the following categories: danger warning, regulatory (priority-related, prohibitory, mandatory) and informatory and orientation-related (informatory, orientation-related, touristic, additional, milestones, special situations).
