Much of what I do here is minor edits to music-related articles and fetching reliable sources, generally from commercially-published print resources, as a majority of online sources currently being used for these articles do not live up to Wikipedia reliability and verifiability standards. Things in particular that wind me up include endless genre disputes that degenerate into posturing. If you don't have a source to hand to justify your position, don't type anything until you do.

Another thing I do a lot of is add 'citation needed' tags to things. Particular targets for tagging include statements that include the phrases 'are considered' or 'is widely held to be' without a reference. Original research on genre pages is also a common target; this generally involves people explaining what a genre sounds like, often with reference to what it is not, without a third party source to back it up.

Finally on genre, I feel that Wikipedia has a tendency to support over-genrification. Someone on one of the talk pages I read recently commented along the lines of, "The music press is generally pretty inclusive, whilst Wikipedia editors are generally exclusive." I would agree with this and hopefully buck this trend.

I'd encourage everyone involved in editing music articles to read WP:GENRE WARRIOR.
