Apia Harbour at dawn, during the independence celebrations of 2003.
I came across Wikipedia in September 2004 and leapt right in. This is such a good idea and is something that could only occur on the internet. A look at my contributions should tell you who I am. After training and then fifteen years working as a psychiatrist in Melbourne, Australia I retired to live in Samoa (Independent Samoa or the old Western Samoa). I now work part time as a psychiatrist here. This gives me time for hobbies such as photography and Wikipedia but creates an isolation that does not allow me to do much research, other than on the web. My practice has been in general psychiatry and I have never held an academic position so I am ill equipped to comment on some of the entries here.
Over the years I have held a private pilot's licence, been a part owner of an aircraft, and consulted with the Australian Government on aviation psychiatry. This explains some of my contributions in these areas. This also explains my username as a pun on flying and surfing the net, a name I chose years ago when I first needed a log on name. I have other interests and in time will look at those on Wikipedia.
I have not been an active editor for some time but still come to the site and make small changes or comments. If you don't get a reply for some time then I am not being rude. I just haven't been on for a while.
