This is a freshman composition class, in which you will acquire a working knowledge of Wikipedia, insight into its community and rules, and experience with collaborative editing. In the end, you will have produced (or expanded) an encyclopedic article for Wikipedia on a topic of your choosing.
A companion assignment is a process paper, in which you'll explain the writing and editing process and assess the opportunities and limitations of Wikipedia, and its role in the dissemination of knowledge.
