Marisa Tomei is an American actress who has received various awards and nominations, including an Academy Award, a Drama Desk Award and various critics accolades. She has been nominated for two other Academy Awards, a BAFTA Award, two Golden Globe Awards, three Satellite Awards, and three Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Tomei achieved international acclaim for her performance as Mona Lisa Vito in My Cousin Vinny (1992), winning the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. She later appeared in Untamed Heart (1993) with Christian Slater, which earned them an MTV Movie Award for Best Kiss. Her performances in Unhook the Stars (1996) and Slums of Beverly Hills (1998) earned her the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role and an American Comedy Award for Funniest Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture.

In 2000, Tomei appeared in the Nancy Meyers film What Women Want (2000), which garnered her a nomination for a Satellite Award. A year later, she received critical acclaim for her performance in the crime drama In the Bedroom (2001), earning nominations for the Academy Award, Golden Globe Award, Satellite Award and Critics' Choice Movie Award for Best Supporting Actress. She earned a Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Female nomination for her performance in the Sidney Lumet picture Before the Devil Knows You're Dead. Tomei received further acclaim for her role in Darren Aronofsky's The Wrestler, receiving her third Academy Award nomination as well as her first BAFTA nomination for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.
