The most likely reason your article was declined was because the sources are not adequate.
- The references should include reliable web sites. This means not web sites that can be edited by anyone, such as IMDB or Wikipedia.
- The sources should include a secondary site that talks about the subject, not just a primary site such as a company web page.
- Notability may not be established - most bands fail WP:Music criteria, academics are not outstanding in their field. Most movies are now not notable as they are home movies.
- It may be a copyright violation. Copying the text off a website is almost always unacceptable. Even if you wrote that text yourself, you will have to be very careful to explain that.
- Notability test by internet search: If the person or band is currently famous, then there should be plenty of web sites that mention it (apart from wikipedia). I would expect at least several thousand hits. A few dozen completely fails the test. Perhaps the name was spelled wrong?
