Hello My nick, Gryllida, stands for true cricket. It is a family of insects, which is related to bush crickets, and, more distantly, to grasshoppers. Crickets make nice chirping sounds in the evenings.
I usually edit with Debian GNU/Linux, with WindowMaker. The web browser is not very good - if you know of a Wikipedia editing app for Mac OS, or for GNUstep, I would be interested to know more. Please leave me a message.

My first edit was the creation of the article about "Ehrenfest equations" in Russian and English, during the third year of my undergraduate study. I completed the article in one edit, as I was already familiar with wiki markup from my previous minor edits which were made without logging in. This was a reasonably notable and non-controversial subject. Then I also created "Vanishing dimensions theory", a translation of the existing Russian article. Then from the "requested articles" section I created articles: "Astringent (taste)"; "AngelScript", "Canopy conductance", "Psammon", "EuroFOT", "IVBSS", "Iury", and "Stats." (in this one I created redirect only, not the page content).

Since about five years ago I volunteer to review drafts and partol new pages. This year I joined WikiProject 'Australia'. Recently I also became involved with help at live chat and OTRS, which may explain my attempt to look after articles which I have not written, and which I didn't read out of my own interest. In the cases where my editing is necessary, I link to the relevant policies in the edit summaries, and in the talk page messages. At present I do not have any conflict of interest with any of the topics which I edit.
At Wikipedia, I follow several principles, which are listed below.
In the case you want to discuss any of these changes, I ask that you leave a message at the talk page of the article, and a talkback at my personal talk page, to ensure that it won't be missed. Note that I currently live in Australia on the east coast.
