My hobbies include:Music - I play several instruments, including Soprano Clarinet in Bb , Bass clarinet and Piano . I have an interest in Romantic era music . I used to be interested in Conducting , although I haven't had as much opportunity for that recently. I also have more modern tastes, although these tend to be more transient: currently I am listening to Queen , The Mamas & the Papas , Otis Redding , Petula Clark , Metallica and REM . Theatre - I'm particularly into Musical theatre . My favourite shows include Les Miserables , Avenue Q , Wicked , Fame , & Miss Saigon Technical theatre - Mainly I dabble in Amateur dramatics , inparticular in Stage management and Stage lighting . I am not an Actor by any means, however, my talents lie firmly backstage! Kayaking - I used to do a lot more of this although over the last few years I haven't had as much time. I enjoy paddling on rivers, lakes, white water and surf. I usually paddle with friends, I don't belong to a club. Reading - I'll give pretty much anything a try. Currently I'm working my way through Catch-22 . My favourite books include Lord of the Flies and Catcher in the Rye . Science and Mathematics - Two great passions, which I guess makes me a bit of a geek. I'm most interested in the medical aspects of science (such as Anatomy , Physiology , Pathophysiology and Pharmacology ). In maths, I prefer Pure maths : I dabble in Statistics when forced to.
