Retired
This user is no longer active on Wikipedia as of September 2009.

I'd like to be able to throw up one of those nice, borderline poetic speeches that lots of retiring editors do, but it's just not happening, and I'd rather get this written.

My decision to retire from Wikipedia stems from two things. One is a strong feeling I have that wikipedia is in a "too many chefs spoil the batter" sort of situation. So many users, so much going on all over the place, and everyone bringing an agenda. The second is that as wikipedia moves towards completion, actual content writing is replaced by endless quibbling about things as minute as the order three different words should go in in an article. Although I've indulged in plenty of that, I don't enjoy it.

This is not a "wikipedia is ruined omg" kind of thing. More a decision that I don't have the time or inclination to be what I consider to be a good editor, and that it's time for me to go do something else. I do think I'm serious about this decision to retire, and I went so far as to delete my entire watchlist.

I'd like to thank A Nobody, Mark Shaw, Svernon19, BOZ and especially Dan the Man1983 for making my time here at wikipedia just that much more pleasant, and admin Marasmusine for being the voice of advice during my newbie days.

After having thought it over, I decided that if I'd spent multiple years as a wikipedia editor, I should have at least one Good Article to my name. However, this condescending... unpleasant person caused me to lose interest in doing so.
