xiangshan in zhangjiagang
There are many places of interest in zhangjiagang.Xiangshan is one of them.Xiangshan is located in the west of zhangjiagang.It is 15 kilometers away from the city centre.It is very convenient to go to the city from there.The whole mountain covers about 4.37 square kilometers.The altitude of it is 136.6 meters.The mountains have long sections of pinus massoniana, metasequoia glyptostroboides, the bamboo.Peach and pear trees are also planted on the mountain.The Wild medicinal materials are all over the mountain.The beautiful natural scenery and rich human resourses attarct many tourists to visit it every year.Xu xia ke——a famous geologist in the Ming Dynasty visited xiangshan for many times and left many poetries about xiangshan.
With the effort of the government,a lot of scenic spots have been opened to the outside world since 1993.Wangjiangting(望江亭),laohuzui(老虎嘴),caixiangjing(采香径),taohuajian(桃花涧)and shengguotan(圣过潭)are all natural senic spots.In 1995, an investment of 60 million yuan contributed to the xiangshansi(香山寺)which covers about 6700 square meters area.
In recent years,with the development of zhangjiagang,the mountain have gradually formed into the famous scenic spot.At present, At the development of scenic spot has been put in the planning of key projects.
