Slade Architecture is a New York City based architecture and design firm founded in 2002 by Hayes and James Slade.

The firm has completed Architectural and Interior Design projects and installations in the US, China and South Korea. Slade has worked on buildings within a variety of architectural genres including Cultural, Residential and Commercial.

In 2006 Slade architecture was selected for the New York City DDC Design and Construction Excellence program. The design Excellence program was created by mayor Michael Bloomberg in 2004 as an effort to elevate the quality of city works and “to expand our city’s pre-eminence as the design capital of the world”. Slade, along with 23 other firms was chosen for a two year contract period. According to The Architect's Newspaper "Architects participating in New York City's Design and Construction Excellence Initiative become the go-to firms for a wide range of municipal jobs, from storage sheds and office renovations to libraries and museums." The projects of this firm blend a clean modern design aesthetic with a playful element. The concept of many of Slade's buildings clearly reflect the brand or personality of the client as can be observed in the Barbie Shanghai flagship store[2] or the Kenig residence[3], which was designed for Ricky Kenig of Ricky's NYC. In several of Slade's projects the form of the structure derives from elements of the site location and strives to integrate with the landscape; as can be observed in the Dakai Theme park and shop and the Ordos 100 stack house.
