If I tagged your page for deletion, there is a reason for it. Don't get defensive - look honestly at the article and look for ways to improve it. Remember, not everyone reading your article knows as much about the subject as you do. Writing 101 - that should be one of the first things you learn when you learn to write a term paper as a teenager - assume the reader knows nothing about the subject and tell them everything they need to know. That includes giving appropriate sources when available. Telling me John Smith is a player for XYZ team in ABC country and plays DEF position doesn't tell me why John is wiki worthy. Telling me John has been named MVP, has several records in his sport and so on tells me he is notable.
