I've been editing on Wikipedia for a few months, and have a few observations.
- There is far too much effort wasted on non-article pages.
- The biggest threat to the encyclopedia's integrity is not vandalism, serious though that be, but cranks and POV pushers. Trolls can be ignored.
- I've found, while working on James Tiptree Jr, that it is easy to recruit new editors from other sites with an interest in a particular subject.
- I have no burning ambition to start new articles; as Jimbo said, quality, not quantity, should be the current focus.
