User has been tagged as making repeated disruptive edits further mispresenting the band name and it's members in a negative way.

Examples of unique name only used as a musical artist/band from credible sources of concert listings.

I don't see where the user mentions a band? The existence of a musical group with the same name might be a coincidence. Even if it's not, it could be simply a stage name, which is allowed. It seems like the band or artist is defunct, and the user isn't even mentioning a band. Helpful Raccoon (talk) 03:20, 24 November 2024 (UTC)

I'm trying to understand this. The person submitted an article for someone with the same surname as a guy who has harassed one of the band. You think this is some kind of stalker? The same username as the name of a band isn't something we care about.Secretlondon (talk) 14:07, 24 November 2024 (UTC)
Not a blatant violation of the username policy, but it's worth keeping an eye on their edits. There are other issues with that user's edits and interactions with other users, but the username is not an issue here. OhNoitsJamieTalk 02:44, 26 November 2024 (UTC)
Not a blatant violation of the username policy. Please discuss this with the user first, and consider opening a community discussion at Requests for comment/User names if they disagree with your concerns.. Could take it to RfC/UN now. — rsjaffe🗣️ 16:21, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
What company do you think they are promoting? BlahOfficial type names are normally non-notable individuals. Secretlondon (talk) 19:47, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
No edits at all, nothing even in the filter log? You've left them a template about COI, but I cannot see why. It's just a personal name and a state. We also ask you not to template people and immediately report them. Secretlondon (talk) 23:20, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
@Secretlondon please don't get so ticked off. The name caught my eye and a quick search shows several people with that name at large businesses. I thought it necessary to report for that reason Sandcat555 (talk) 23:27, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
Not a violation of the username policy. Real names are permitted except when they imply that the editor is a specific living person they are not. Consider filing a report at the conflict of interest noticeboard.. For everything except blatant cases it's also better to wait till the user edits. For unknown reasons most newly registered accoutns never edit at all. Waiting to see if the person actually engages with Wikipedia avoids chasing down every possible COI or "yourmom" name from the endless list of new accounts. :) -- Euryalus (talk) 00:23, 26 November 2024 (UTC)
@Euryalus This seems almost blatant to me, especially given the information you have since deleted. This specific combination of words points to a specific person. However they haven't done anything, as someone said. So, leave it I guess Sandcat555 (talk) 03:35, 26 November 2024 (UTC)
Hi again, sorry but it's not a UAA. To be promotional a username must unambiguously represent the name of a company, organization, website, product, musical group or band, team, club, creative group, or organized event. None of these apply here - there's no company called "Mary Keller" or "Mary Keller Maryland" and there's no evidence of promotional editing by this account. -- Euryalus (talk) 03:45, 26 November 2024 (UTC)
@Euryalus I know. I was agreeing with you. You wanted to email me- try doing that and we can talk that way. Sandcat555 (talk) 03:48, 26 November 2024 (UTC)

I have been patrolling recent changes on-and-off for around 6 months now. Been looking to try out tools like Huggle or AV to replace the manual "ctrl+clicking diff links on recent changes and seeing if they're bad". I have read the necessary pages, and I understand how rollback may be used. mwwvconverse∫edits 18:25, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
I've been patrolling Recent Changes for a long time now and wanted to try something different: Huggle and/or AntiVandal. I haven't been extremely active lately, but my work should be clearing up soon. I've read WP:ROLLBACK and always try to warn editors. Thank you for your consideration. Requesting rollback to help with my anti-vandalism work. I understand the guidelines and already consistently warn users and use appropriate edit summaries. Cremastra ‹ u — c › 03:01, 24 November 2024 (UTC)
Since I started actively contributing to Wikipedia, most of my efforts have been reverting vandalism and RCP. I would like rollback permissions so I can use tools such as Huggle, and remove the need to open diffs in a new tab and manually inspect them. Thank you for considering me. /etc/owuh $ (💬 | she/her) 00:55, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
Five months ago, I requested rollback rights, but Admin Fastily rejected the request, advising me to spend some time on recentchanges, warn editors when reverting their edits, and gain more experience. I have diligently followed this guidance and now feel that the time is right to submit another request for rollback rights. I am confident in distinguishing between good-faith and bad-faith edits and always ensure to warn editors when necessary. Currently, I am also serving as an AFC reviewer and Pending Changes reviewer. Thank you for considering my request. Baqi:) (talk) 14:09, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
@Jannatulbaqi I'm not declining, but I'm a bit concerned that you're a bit too quick to use semi-automated tools when reviewing edits. For example, you reverted this edit, when you should've just removed the entire sentence per WP:BLPSOURCE. You also reverted this one, but didn't tag the article with {{current sports transaction}}. --Ahecht (TALK PAGE) 18:22, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
Thank you, respected Ahecht, for noting this. The first edit I reverted was due to a local slur that was highly offensive. Secondly, while reverting, I had asked in the edit summary, "where is the reference?" when I should have used the proper tag on the article. I assure you that such mistakes will not occur in the future. Thank you. Baqi:) (talk) 18:44, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
@Jannatulbaqi I'll leave it up to another admin to grant or deny the request, but in the future when you revert highly offensive material, you should also request WP:Revision deletion. --Ahecht (TALK PAGE) 18:55, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
Thank you, I will take care of that in future:) Baqi:) (talk) 18:58, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
I've been doing RCP for several months now, and I'd like to request rollback permission so I can more effectively utilize anti-vandal tools to counter vandals and bad-faith edits. I believe I have a good understanding of both reverting as well as rollback, and what typically counts as vandalism, disruption, and general bad edits.
