I feel that Wikipedia will never be a good source of information. I've felt this way for a long time and kept editing anyway, but I don't see the point anymore. Most of the articles on here are only 85% accurate, or are constantly being edited by people with limited knowledge on the topic (but who think that they're experts), or suffer from vandalism that has gone unnoticed (often subtle, such as changes to numbers or dates).
After a few years of heading in one direction, culture/society/paradigms/whatever always redirect themselves. The pendulum always swings back the other way, as it were. I think that in a few years, there'll be a backlash on all this user-generated web content, social media, etc once we realize how unreliable it is and anything or anyone can misrepresent themselves. We may well be back to trusting nothing except peer-reviewed academic journals.
