Davide Marocco, Ph.D, is a Lecturer in Cognitive Robotics and Intelligent Systems at the University of Plymouth, U.K. Dr Marocco was previously working as a Researcher at the Institute of Cognitive Sciences and Technologies at the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche in Italy. His primary interests are Evolutionary robotics, specifically cognition and active perception, and the evolution of communication and language with evolutionary robotics techniques. Dr Marocco is currently involved in the ITALK Project, funded by the European Union 7th framework programme.

Dr Marocco works with the University of Plymouth in publications relating to a new approach in developing artificial intelligence.

Davide Marocco received his Ph.D in 2004 for thesis: The Grounding of Language on cognitive and sensorimotor categories at the University of Calabria, Italy
