I'm part of both the AMA and the Mediation Cabal, organizations which strive to better Wikipedia by resolving disputes between editors. Yes, I know, there always is and will be RfC and the Mediation/Arbitration Committees; however, these organizations allow for a certain level of informality and serve as a preliminary step before taking it to MedCom or ArbCom. Being in these also gives me practice in mediation; someday I plan on joining MedCom.
