What is expected of a coordinator?

Traditionally, Milhist coordinators:

1. Look after the routine admin jobs, listed in the open tasks section of the handbook preferably on a daily basis.

2. Contribute promptly to Milhist discussions: (i) on the coordinators' talk page, so consensus can be quickly reached, (ii) on the main talk pageand (iii) on the coordinator's adopted task force talk pages.

3. Help administer, and provide back-up support, for any Milhist special projects (drives etc).

4. Try informally to resolve conflicts (especially long-running ones or disputes affecting many articles).

Although some Milhist coordinators are also administrators, coordinators: (i) do not require sysop tools for any of their responsibilities and (ii) do not become involved in article protection and the like

These tasks can be time-consuming, especially when others are busy in real-life, and sometimes stressful. Coordinators should be prepared to prioritize coordination over other Wiki-activities.
