Ok, this started from a conversation online with a recent RFA candidate. As the story goes, I was bored while waiting for my bus this evening so I decided to whip out my laptop and a data card and started browsing the web. After checking email and server logs, I flipped over to my Wikipedia watchlist and spotted some changes to a local project page.
Looking at the diff, it turns out that this good friend of mine has been RFA'd. So now half-way home on my bus journey I pop into the RFA discussion and leave my strong support for his candidacy. I managed to hit save right before getting off the bus with laptop still in hand and the changes being uploaded.
So while talking to him this evening and mentioning all of this, he commented supporting Wikipedia's adminship procedures from public transport! sounds like an ad in the making.
It left me asking the question, where do you Wikipedia? Having a think about this, i've decided to come up with a few funny works of fiction describing peoples Wikipedia user habits. Here they are:
Jean Luke from Santiago, Chile: on the can, because reading and updating wp is far more interesting than the magazines my wife leaves in there.
Sascha of Lower Saxony, Germany: From my local supermarket, because its always good to know exactly which chemicals are in the loaf of bread I just bought.
Private First Class Williams, currently on the front lines in Basra, Iraq: Right in the middle of enemy RPG's flying right over my head, because it's always interesting to see POV disputes which are being played out in real life metres in front of me.
So, my question to you is where do you Wikipedia? Feel free to add your own expeirences of the weird and wonderful places you've found yourself using WP.
