Although American cyclist Lance Armstrong has never been found guilty of doping by cycling officials, many allegations of misconduct have been made by professional riders and others surrounding him. Armstrong has spent considerable time and money defending himself against accusations made by his accusers, and speculation as to whether or not he used performance-enhancing drugs to achieve his successes on the bike, which include winning general classification in the Tour de France a record seven times, continues to follow him even after retiring from the race a second time in 2010.[1]
