User talk:HMSLavender/Archive 4

I used to be HMSSolent before I lost access to my old account, having changed my password in April but I've forgotten it since. As the login was saved for a month or more I was able to continue editing until yesterday when I was logged out of the HMSSolent account. This was exacerbated by the lack of an email address, and I spent those months trying to figure out the last digits of my password prior to the log out. How do I prove that I owned the old HMSSolent account? lavender|(formerlyHMSSolent|lambast 12:53, 26 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Can you not do something with the committed identity? Thanks, Matty.007 13:11, 26 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
This looks dodgy: you are likely an imposter, see [1] HMSSolent's contributions. Matty.007 13:12, 26 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
My apologies, misread message. Matty.007 13:14, 26 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. It's just an idea and I don't know if it leads somewhere, but could it be that STiki (which I saw on your old user page you use) saves your password, or saves some other data that you could retrieve? Or maybe a password hash that a high-permission user could use to compare? ~ twsx | talkcont | ~ 13:39, 26 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Twsx: I asked Nick, who said that the committed identity was a dead end. Thanks, Matty.007 13:42, 26 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Nah, STiki won't save any of my login details - once closed, you're automatically logged out, and you will need to re-enter your password (although your username is saved). Same goes for HG, although again the username is saved for the next login. lavender|(formerlyHMSSolent|lambast 14:44, 26 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
