User talk:Ikiroid/Help Me Improve

Hi, this page is for any suggestions you have on helping me become a better user on Wikipedia. Leave your comments below. If you can remember anything that helped you become a better wikipedian, leave it here. Or, if you think anything is wrong in the general way I do things, you can mention it here.

Thanks goes out to Fang Aili for coming up with the idea over Esperanza's IRC

  1. Join some projects. — Preceding unsigned comment added by General Eisenhower (talkcontribs)
    Good idea. But which ones?--The ikiroid (talk)(Help Me Improve) 21:55, 28 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
    I recently joined Wikipedia:User categorisation you could try joining that one--Scott3 22:18, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  2. I see that even though I made no contact to you about the color veracity of the flag of Lebanon, you still apparated onto my talk page to give some of your invaluable advice. Helping and looking out for the new people is a virtue! So, I guess what I'm trying to say is, "Keep up the good work." Also, adding onto General Eisenhower's suggestion of "Join some projects," you should look for a project that you would be interested in, but also able to contribute to. Have a good one!--The Ninth Bright Shiner talk 23:29, 28 April 2006 (UTC) (P.S. - my signature is working! Oh yeah!)[reply]
  3. Your signature could be regarded as 'attention grabbing', and there has been a lot of fuss made over signatures recently. I suggest removing the background green and changing the text back to default black. Petros471 14:25, 12 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  4. Great work at the reference desk: concise, friendly help all the time! EvocativeIntrigue TALK | EMAIL 23:20, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  5. I really liked the ideas you have for the writing system projects, the templates are awesome, I'd like to try it with Chinese characters which would also work somewhat for Kanji. One quick tip about politeness and informality in Chinese, it doesn't work the way it does in Japanese or Korean. You don't modify the verb-endings to make it more or less formal. In fact in Chinese it's not how you say the word but what you say just like in English. In fact it makes the language a lot less complicated. Trust me it's complicated enough without it. Best of luck in the future and if you ever have any questions about what your learning shoot me a line. For the next sixth months I'll be kinda sporadic in Wiki-ing but I'll try my best. 6. I've looked at your contributions and from what I can tell, you're not too active in AfD discussions. I would suggest you start doing so because that's what some people look for when voting in RfA's. --Tuspm (C | @) 01:00, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  7. It should be pretty clear from the comment line that the Houston Chronicle links are broken, and as such, they can be removed per Wikipedia policy. Please don't revert sensible edits so carelessly. If you can fix the problem, do so, but don't perpetuate it.70.113.208.174 20:50, 9 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  8. When you want to add a new section, please do not edit the last existing section. I thought you were replying to my post in Talk:International Phonetic Alphabet#Problems with using IPA in EN pages. However, you started another. You can use the "+" tab at the top to start a new section. Thanks. Will (Talk - contribs) 22:27, 23 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
