Vanda is an early opera by the Czech composer Antonín Dvořák (1841–1904) about the legendary Polish (Cracow) princess Vanda, which was literaryised in the movement of the national revival by Julian Surzycki (18201882) from Warsaw, a Polish national awakener, politician, civil engineer and occasional poet. His book was translated from the Polish by Václav Beneš Šumavský and adapted to libretto together with František Zákrejs in 1875. The premiere took place on 17 April 1876 at the "Prozatimní divadlo" ("Provisional Theatre") in Prague.
