Verwurelter or verwurrelter,[1][2] also known as fueskichelcher,[3] are traditional Luxembourg deep-fried pastry knots. They are most commonly served during the Fuesent carnival season in Luxembourg,[2][1][4][5] which runs from the beginning of February and continues in some areas through the end of March.[2][1][6] The literal meaning of verwurelter is "the messy ones".[7]
