Viktor Aleksandrovich Anfilov (Russian: Виктор Александрович Анфилов; 10 July 1919[1] – 13 February 2002) was a Russian military officer and historian.[2] He earned the degree of Doctor of Historical Sciences in 1973, became a professor in 1975[3] and was awarded the honorary title of Honoured Scientist of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic in 1990. He rose to the rank of colonel, and saw action on the Eastern Front in World War II.[4]
