Lee Arthur Carter (born October 7, 1971), known professionally by his stage name Viper, is an American rapper, record producer, and actor.[1] He is regarded as one of the originators of cloud rap.[2][3]

Viper began releasing music in 2003, originally under the name Lee Dogg. He released the album You'll Cowards Don't Even Smoke Crack in 2008; it gained popularity in 2013 and became an Internet meme.

Carter was arrested on January 4, 2024 and charged with aggravated kidnapping for keeping a woman captive in his garage for several years.[4][5] On February 29, he was charged with kidnapping and sexually assaulting a second woman in 2021.[6] On October 22-23, he and his ex-wife were additionally charged with over 50 counts of fraud and tampering with government records.[7]
