Volgodonskoy District (Russian: Волгодонско́й райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[4] district (raion), one of the forty-three in Rostov Oblast, Russia. It is located in the eastern central part of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,479 square kilometers (571 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a stanitsa) of Romanovskaya.[1] Population: 33,779 (2010 Census);[3] 30,170 (2002 Census);[6] 24,690 (1989 Soviet census).[7] The population of Romanovskaya accounts for 24.4% of the district's total population.[3]
