Volovsky District (Russian: Воло́вский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[4] district (raion), one of the eighteen in Lipetsk Oblast, Russia. It is located in the southwest of the oblast. The area of the district is 796 square kilometers (307 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Volovo.[1] Population: 12,852 (2021 Census);[6] 14,632 (2010 Census);[3] 16,374 (2002 Census);[7] 18,583 (1989 Soviet census).[8] The population of Volovo accounts for 26.2% of the district's total population.[6]
