Voznesensky District (Russian: Вознесе́нский райо́н) is an administrative district (raion), one of the forty in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Russia.[1] Municipally, it is incorporated as Voznesensky Municipal District.[4] It is located in the southwest of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,302.9 square kilometers (503.1 sq mi).[1] Its administrative center is the urban locality (a work settlement) of Voznesenskoye.[1] Population: 17,352 (2010 Census);[2] 19,790 (2002 Census);[6] 22,538 (1989 Soviet census).[7] The population of Voznesenskoye accounts for 39.1% of the district's total population.[2]
