Wang Jian (Southern Qi)

Wang Jian (王儉) (452 – 16 June 489[1]), courtesy name Zhongbao (仲寶), formally Duke Wenxian of Nanchang (南昌文憲公), was an official of the Chinese Liu Song and Southern Qi dynasties, who was particularly powerful during the reigns of the first two emperors of Southern Qi, Emperor Gao (Xiao Daocheng) and Emperor Wu (Xiao Ze).

  1. ^ Wang Jian's biography in Nan Qi Shu indicate that he died aged 38 (by East Asian reckoning). Emperor Wu's biography in the same work indicate that he died on the yi'si day of the 5th month of the 7th year of the Yong'ming era.
