West Beirut (French: West Beyrouth (À l'abri les enfants); Arabic: بيروت الغربية (Bayrut El Gharbiyyeh)) is a 1998 Lebanese war comedy-drama film about the Lebanese Civil War, written and directed by Ziad Doueiri. The film was selected as the Lebanese entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 71st Academy Awards, but was not accepted as a nominee.[1][2]
