Whitney M. Young Magnet High School is a public four-year magnet high school and middle school located in the Near West Side neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. Opened on September 3, 1975, Young was the city's first public magnet high school. Named after Whitney Young, a prominent African-American civil rights leader, the school is operated by the Chicago Public Schools district.[3]
