Understanding structured narratives:

The templates used here to generate thematic draft were developed according to the concept of structured narratives, which can be understood as the creation of human-readable verbal texts, automated from predetermined arrangements that process structured database information. Here, templates are used to generate drafts of thematic entries, being verbal text drafts formed with structured data extracted automatically from Wikidata.

The textual composition is predetermined, generic and editable. This means that the editor will see the outline text, which can fit different entries within the chosen theme. As the data entered in the textual structure is extracted from the corresponding Wikidata item, the drafts should vary according to the information available in the database about the desired item.

Museums entries, for example, follow a similar narrative structure, as their articles must contain essential information such as the museum's scope, where it is located, by whom it is managed or directed, and which works are displayed there, for example. This information is understood as variables that can be applied in a generic textual structure, facilitating the elaboration of a draft that adapts according to the desired museum.

For each theme a basic entry structure was developed that can be followed by the editor. All drafts contain introduction and sections linked to the theme as suggestions, to assist the editor in the process of writing the entry. The editor can change the text generated on their personal sandbox page as they see fit, and should deepen the quality of the entry before publishing it to the main domain. It is also the editor's responsibility to heed the recommendations of Wikipedia's Manual of Style.

It is worth noting that the phrases and sentences automatically generated by Mbabel are simple, short and often make use of the passive voice. This feature was adopted in order to cover particularities of the language, in order to be as adaptable as possible to the linguistic variables resulting from the properties registered in Wikidata. Therefore, it is up to the user to adapt the text of the structured draft to the molds of natural language, so that it does not cause estrangement to the human reader. Artwork

The structured narrative of artwork should be used as a support for writing works on your sandbox page. It automatically generates a draft entry that should contain information such as author, date created, art genre, techniques used, dimensions, orderer, location, etc., according to data available in their respective Wikidata item. Suggested sections for this type of entry are: description, context, analysis, and reception. An example artwork entry can be performed below:

Museum

The structured narrative of museums should be used as a support for writing museum entries on your sandbox page. It automatically generates an entry draft that should contain information such as location, collection size, number of annual visitors, current curator, architectural style, awards received, property status, etc., according to data available in its respective Wikidata item. In addition, this structured draft contains a Listeria with up to 100 collections exhibited at the museum. Suggested sections for this entry are description, history, collection, architecture, and administration. An example of museum entry creation can be performed below:

Library

The structured library narrative should be used as a support for writing library entries on your sandbox page. It automatically generates an entry draft that should contain information such as location, collection size, number of annual visitors, current curator, architectural style, awards received, property status, etc., according to data available in its respective Wikidata item. In addition, this structured draft contains a Listeria with up to 100 library collection items. Suggested sections for this entry are description, history, collection, architecture, and administration. An example library entry creation can be performed below:

Theatre

The structured narrative of theatres should be used as support for writing archive entries on your sandbox page. It automatically generates an entry draft that should contain information such as location, inception, number of annual visitors, maximum capacity, architectural style, awards received, property status, etc., according to data available in its respective Wikidata item. Human

The structured narrative of human should be used for creating a biography article. It automatically generates an entry draft that should contain information such as background, education and other important facts:

Create a template

If you want to work on Wikipedia with other themes that don't fit the existing templates, you can create a structured narrative yourself for the types of items you want. For this, we recommend reading and studying the Brazilian Wikidata Labs, especially the Wikidata Lab I and the Wikidata Lab IX, which address the use of the functions necessary to obtain the information from Wikidata and how to build and structure a narrative around this information, respectively.

Once you have created the template (preferably on your sandbox page), move it to a subpage of Template:Mbabel so that the page is named as Template:Mbabel-<NameoftheTemplate>, and add the link to the page on the template page, and then create a basic description with the draft button on this subpage.
