The The Met x Wikipedia Virtual Edit Meet-up: Women's History Month was held Saturday March 6, 2021 hosted by the Metropolitan Museum of Art with Wikimedia NYC as a virtual online event. See the Met Museum event page.

As part of Women’s History Month, join The Met and Wikipedia online for a live, virtual edit session to help build global information and expand and improve knowledge about women in the arts, and everyone impacted by the gender gap—including artists, collectors, patrons, and others. Wikipedians, and the public are all welcome to participate. No experience necessary.

The Met + Wikipedia team will provide working lists of objects and artists, as well as training on creating and editing articles, adding keywords to images, and adding content to Wikidata.

Afterwards, the team will be available for an additional hour to answer questions and provide guidance on a chat channel we will provide during the session.

We will be partially coordinating with the Gender Gap International Women's Day, WikiWomen's History Month, and Art+Feminism campaigns throughout the month of March.

Watch and join the livestream! The Metropolitan Museum of Art event on Saturday Mar 6 will host a tutorial and question-and-answer session live on YouTube and other social media platforms.
