This page is not one of Wikipedia's notability guidelines.

The following is a tool to help determine whether a media outlet is a valid subject for a Wikipedia article. The scope of this page covers all forms of "traditional media"—including newspapers, magazines, radio, and television. Notability of websites is determined by referring to the guideline at Wikipedia:Notability (web).

Simply stated, a media outlet is an organization formed to make some form of communication with a wider audience. This is often in the form of news and/or entertainment and may or may not be done for a profit.
