Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure

Paid contributions on Wikipedia involve editing any page in exchange for compensation, including money or other incentives. Editors receiving payment must disclose their employer, client, and affiliation, on their user page, talk page, or in edit summaries. It does not matter whether you are paid directly by the client, or paid indirectly by an employer on behalf of the client. Disclosure is necessary to comply with Wikimedia Foundation’s Terms of Use. Paid editors are also required to provide links on their user page to any external accounts where they solicit paid editing services. Administrators may not use their administrative privileges for pay.

The guidelines emphasize transparency to avoid conflicts of interest, and editors who fail to disclose paid contributions are prohibited from editing. Reports of undisclosed paid editing can be made via official Wikipedia channels.
