The I am Yao project exists to allow for the easy sharing of information relating to the language and culture of the Yao people (East Africa) who are mainly concentrated in Malawi, Mozambique and Tanzania. The project's website, though containing information relating to religious materials, is strictly non-religious and intended as an academic and cultural exercise. It is run by its founder Tim Cowley who is based in Mandimba, Mozambique.
