- The Album
- "Pop" was released on March 3, 1997.
- It reached #1 in 32 countries and sold over 1 million copies; it is one of U2's lowest-selling albums.
- "Pop" is considered one of U2's most experimental albums.
- Critical reviews were very mixed of the album, being called "an album of great pop" by Rolling Stone magazine, but "an easy record to admire, but a hard record to enjoy" by All Music Guide.
- The band has remixed several songs from this album, such as "Discothèque", "Staring at the Sun", and "Please".
- U2 was hurried into finishing the album because they scheduled the PopMart Tour before completing the album, and have said on several occasions that the album is not the way they envisioned.
- The singles released from the album were "Discothèque", "Staring at the Sun", "Last Night on Earth", "Please", "If God Will Send His Angels", and Mofo.
