To archive a completed discussion, open the Deletion Archive and follow the appropriate instructions below:
- WP:AFD: add the line *{{afdl|PageName|DiscussionName|ISO-Date-Opened|ISO-Date-Closed|Result}} Additional notes into the appropriate Deletion Archive section, maintaining alphabetical order by page name. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, "ISO-Date-Opened" with the ISO-formatted date that the page was AFDed, "ISO-Date-Closed" with the ISO-formatted date the discussion was closed, and "Result" with the result of the discussion (Keep, Delete, Merge, Redirect, No consensus, etc.). If the discussion uses a different name from the article title (for instance, if the discussion covers multiple articles), replace "DiscussionName" with the name used for the discussion page and optionally also list the discussion under the Mass nominations section (otherwise leave it blank), and if the result of the discussion is "Merge"/"Redirect" or otherwise somewhat complicated, replace "Additional notes" with the name of the article merged/redirected to or whatever other notes are necessary. Once you have saved your edit to the Deletion Archive, remove the archived discussion from this page.
- WP:CfD, WP:TFD, WP:MFD: Edit the discussion list and copy the code for the completed discussion, then paste it in the appropriate section on the Deletion Archive page, maintaining alphabetical order by page name. After the vertical pipe to the right of the ISO-formatted date the discussion was started, add the ISO-formatted date it was closed, and to the right of that, note the result of the debate. If further notes on the debate's result are necessary (for instance, the merge target of a merged article), place them after the closing curly brackets (}}), similar to how AfDs are formatted above.
- WP:PROD: Edit the discussion list and copy the code for the completed prod, then paste it in the appropriate section on the Deletion Archive page, maintaining alphabetical order by page name. After the final pipe character in the pasted text (to the right of the date), note the result of the prod: Deleted if the article was deleted, Kept if the article was deprodded, or Relisted at AfD if the article is deprodded and listed at AFD as a result. If the article is relisted, link the text "AfD" to the AFD discussion, and add the result of the discussion to the end of the line once the discussion is concluded.
This may sound like a lot, but there are plenty of examples to refer to, and if you have further questions or need more help,
Dinoguy1000 will be more than happy to offer assistance.
