Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Organizations/Members

Dmenditto 07:20, 14 June 2007 (UTC)dmenditto: I want to preface my comments by acknowledging that I don't have any specific corrections to offer for the "Latin Kings" entry at this time. I simply want to offer that the article is wholly deficient by what I have come to view as Wikipedia.org standards. I am not a present or former member of the Latin Kings. However, I have become friends with a former Advisor in that gang through my efforts to help him assimilate into "normal" society after incarceration. As part of my research to understand the organization to which he belonged, I turned to Wikipedia.org, among other resources. The article that Wikipedia.org has is almost a verbatim cut and paste from the URL: http://www.gripe4rkids.org/LKhis.html, which is obviously a limited perspective from someone on the east coast. A simple Google search will provide a more thorough and accurate summary of the Latin Kings' origin, growth, activities, and current status. As an example, I offer the following URL: http://www.ngcrc.com/ngcrc/page15.htm.[reply]

Again, I have no connections to the Latin Kings. I simply offer these thoughts as someone who has found Wikipedia's articles to be thorough and informative and who has donated to your organization. This one seemed more than below the standards I have come to expect.

Thank you for entertaining my comments.
