William James Kerr, OBE KPM, is a Northern Irish police officer, serving as Chief Constable of Devon and Cornwall Police.
Kerr served as a police officer in Northern Ireland for 27 years, serving with both the Royal Ulster Constabulary (RUC) and its successor, the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI), eventually attaining the rank of assistant chief constable, leading on serious crime and counter terrorism.[1][2] In 2018, he joined Police Scotland, becoming deputy chief constable, and in December 2022 joined Devon and Cornwall Police.[1][2]
He was elected as a European delegate to Interpol's executive committee in November 2021.[3]
In July 2023, he was suspended on suspicion of misconduct.[1][2]
