William Austin Chatfield (born July 14, 1951)[1] is an American government executive and lobbyist who served as the 11th Director of Selective Service System from November 29, 2004, to May 29, 2009, having been nominated by President George W. Bush and confirmed by the U.S. Senate. He was directly responsible to the President for the management of the Selective Service System.
