William Chester (bishop)

William Bennett Chester was a Church of Ireland bishop[1] and author.[2] Educated at Trinity College, Dublin,[3] he was ordained in 1848. After a curacy in Kilrush he held incumbencies at Killead, Kilkee, Ballymackey, Nenagh and Birr.[4] He was Chancellor then Archdeacon of Killaloe before his elevation to the episcopate[5][6] in 1884.[7] He died in post[8] on 27 August 1893.[9]
