Sir William Edmond Logan, FRSE FRS FGS (20 April 1798 – 22 June 1875), was a Canadian-born geologist and the founder and first director of the Geological Survey of Canada.[1]
In 1863, the Geological Survey of Canada published in Montreal a highly anticipated scientific work which will undoubtedly be the most important Canadian scientific work of the 19th century.
